Mandata offers configurable black box and enhances software
Transport management specialist Mandata is now offering its own telematics 'black box', the Wharfe T1. Apart from providing vehicle tracking features, it has the ability to monitor other vehicle functions such as ignition on/off, door open-close, and geo-fence entry-exit. It can also provide event-triggered alarms. And this summer temperature-monitoring will be added. The firmware of the device is upgradeable over the same GPRS wireless connection that transmits the data back to base - which means operators can add to or vary its functionality after it goes into service without having to recall the vehicles in which it is fitted. Mandata has also added more telematics-related functionality to ManPack3 transport management system. A mapping module has been introduced to aid navigation, and there is now a 'hot key' which displays the live status of any vehicle in the fleet.
